The ion Visa Prepaid Card Early Deposit feature may enable you to receive your pay or benefits up to 2 days sooner!* This service is free and no separate enrollment is required.

Complete a direct deposit form and give it to your employer or benefits provider and sign any required paperwork.

You may also give your employer the following information:

Routing Number: 031101169
Account Number: You will find this number in the white box of the back of your card. It is a 13-digit number called “Customer Number” and it begins with 976.

Automatic deposit of government benefits

You can also call one of the numbers below to have your recurring government or other benefits payments automatically loaded onto your card. Examples of these types of payments include: Social Security, SSI, Veterans, unemployment and child support.

Please note: the government benefit payment MUST be in the same name as the cardholder. Companion cardholders cannot use direct deposit to receive government benefits.

When you call to add your federal benefits, be ready with your 12-digit federal benefit check number and the amount of your most recent federal benefit check. The most common numbers to call are:

Social Security Administration
800-772-1213 for retirement or SSI benefits
Department of Veterans Affairs
877-838-2778 for pension benefits.
Child Support or Unemployment
Contact the state or local agency that issues your benefits checks.

Direct deposit for companion cardholders

A companion cardholder can sign up for direct deposit of their paycheck by using the direct deposit form and the Routing Number provided by the primary cardholder. Companion cardholders cannot use direct deposit to receive government benefits. That is available to the primary cardholder only.

* Applies to payroll and government benefits direct deposit. Faster access to funds is based on comparison of traditional banking policies versus electronic direct deposit. Direct deposit and early deposit capability is subject to payer’s support of the feature and timing of the payer’s funding. If your direct deposit qualifies, it happens automatically.

Your ion Visa® Prepaid Card bank routing number and associated direct deposit account number cannot be used for preauthorized direct debits from merchants or from utility or Internet service providers.
If presented for payment, these preauthorized direct debits will be declined and your payment to the merchant will not be processed. The bank routing number and direct deposit account number are for the purpose of initiating direct deposits to your ion Visa Prepaid Card account only. You are not authorized to provide this bank routing number and direct deposit account number to anyone other than your employer or payer.
